Next, Boaz asks Ruth not to go anywhere else to glean, but to continue gleaning in his fields.

8   Then said Boaz unto Ruth, Hearest thou not, my daughter? [In other words, are you listening?] Go not to glean in another field, neither go from hence [don’t go anywhere else], but abide [stay] here fast by [close by] my maidens [my servant girls]:

9   Let thine eyes be on the field that they do reap, and go thou after them [follow them]: have I not charged the young men that they shall not touch thee? [In other words, you don’t have to worry because I have told the young men to leave you alone.] And when thou art athirst, go unto the vessels, and drink of that which the young men have drawn [and anytime you get thirsty, feel free to get a drink from the pitchers of water the young men have filled from the well].
